– So has the school system in your country changed a lot recently?
– I think there are considerable changes, the most obvious being the number of better- equipped schools.
– How much better are they?
– Classrooms with tiled roofs are no longer only seen in big cities, and each classroom has a good blackboard, much better tables, and proper school desks. In many schools, they even have air conditioning. Many more schools also have good libraries and laboratories.
– What about the quality of the teachers?
– In general, they are better-qualified. Moreover, they can enjoy more on-the-job training.
– Can you give me an example of that?
– That sounds great! Are there any other changes you find significant?
– The school curriculum, for example. More emphasis is put on developing students’ skills, rather than just academic knowledge.
– Can you give me an example of that?
– Sure. Now they pay more attention to physical education, arts, and music. Students also have the chance to work in groups on assigned projects.
– Wow. That is an amazing change!
2. Imagine you are going to…(Tưởng tượng rằng bạn sẽ thuyết trình về sự thay đổi trong cách nghỉ lễ của người Việt và đưa ra lý do của sự thay đổi đó. Nhìn vào các gợi ý sau và làm việc nhóm.)
– In the past, Vietnamese people usually went on holiday inside the country but now they prefer to go to foreign countries. The reasons for this change is that people have higher incomes and they want improve their living standards. Moreover, they want to see new places and experience new culture.
– In the past, Vietnamese people only traveled in summer but now they travel almost all the time of the year, on any occasion, especially on national holidays because they work harder and they want more leisure to release stress. They also want flexibility in the way they enjoy days-off or holiday.
– Nowadays travelling by air or car is more and more popular because there are more people own a car and more people who can afford air travel. Back to the past, the most popular means of transportation while travelling is coach or train.
